California Startup JustAir Leases Space from Fountainhead Investment Partners

California medical device start-up company, JustAir, Inc. will launch operations at 4950 Lockhill-Selma in leased space provided by Fountainhead Investment Partners, a San Antonio-based venture capital and private equity firm. Also located in this space are Watershed Idea Foundry, which incubates several companies and Nvision Biomedical Technologies, a medical device and implant manufacturer.

JustAir is a spinout company from Theranova Medical Device Innovations, a medical device incubator in San Francisco, founded in 2006 by Dr. Dan Burnett, who serves as president and CEO. Theranova has raised over $250 million for 14 Theranova medical device companies that collectively have been issued 57 patents worldwide, with an additional 180 pending.

“Fountainhead Investment Partners has been a supporter of early-stage medical device companies since our inception, especially through Watershed Idea Foundry, which we created to foster biomedical growth and innovation,” said founding partner Brian Kieser. “The chance to work with another incubator to bring companies to our city is exactly how we envision our partnerships with the communities we call home.”

“The DavisDuncan economic development team assisted us in finding a suitable place to launch our manufacturing operations as well as identifying a marketing team to help us bring these critically-needed products to market,” said Burnett. “Entrepreneurs exude energy and optimism, so we’re happy to locate JustAir among so many during its early years.”
